Behind the Scenes: Chamberlain’s Hosts an Evening with “50 Cent”

best steakhouse in DFW

Earlier this month, Chamberlain’s Steak & Chop House – the best steakhouse in DFW - had the privilege of hosting Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson for a special evening of dinner, drinks, and celebration.

Most know 50 Cent as a rapper, producer, and actor, but in more recent years, he’s ventured into entrepreneurial territory. 50 Cent owns two exclusive spirit labels – Le Chemin du Roi champagne and Branson Cognac – both of which were featured at the dinner event. Tickets sold out fast, and for good reason! Who wouldn’t want an opportunity to enjoy great food, drinks, and rub shoulders with 50 Cent?! Here’s a glimpse into the Specialty Branson Cognac Cocktail Dinner & Tasting at Chamberlain’s Steak & Chop House:

The Food

The dinner included a full 4-course meal plus a spread of appetizers, all presented by Chef Richard Chamberlain himself! In fact, Chef Chamberlain and 50 Cent paired up for a cooking demonstration toward the end of the night, which was fantastic. After the appetizers were served, the first course included Shrimp, Lobster, and Heritage Pork Shumai-Citrus Truffle Ponzu with Toasted Garlic Peanuts. For the second course, guests enjoyed a Cavatelli Pasta topped with our house-made pheasant and duck sausage, local wild mushrooms, Lisa’s home-grown greens, and pecorino Romano sprinkled on top. The third course was a showstopper at the best steakhouse in DFW, featuring 40 day aged prime NY strip steak with a “baseball cut,” topped with a Branson Cognac Peppercorn Sauce, then paired with crispy caulilini and parsnip potato puree. Lastly, guests finished the evening with dessert, a warm flourless chocolate ganache cake with cognac cherry ice cream.

The Drinks

One of the highlights of this event (beyond 50 Cent himself!) was the showcase of his Branson Cognac and Le Chemin du Roi champagne. Most hadn’t tried either of these, and each course had a drink pairing featuring these incredible spirits. It all started with a Le Chemin du Roi champagne reception where guests got a photo op with 50 Cent! Then, along with each course, guests could try a cocktail featuring Branson Cognac. These cocktails included the Branson VSOP French 75 cocktail, “The VIP” Branson Phantom cocktail, and the Branson “In the House” Royale cocktail. Guests were impressed with the smooth taste of the Cognac, with notes of cinnamon, fruit, and tobacco.
